The Union HRD Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank', while answering to one of the most highlighted questions in Rajya Sabha said that "the last date to submit recommendations and ideas on a draft of New Education Policy has been extended out for a month i.e. till July 31, 2019. The draft of New Education strategy has been put on an open space from May 31st 2019 and the due date to submit proposals was till June 30, 2019.
Recommendations Received So Far
The Minister said that till date around 50,000 recommendations have been received. He told that the deadline for the last date has been extended to invite more and more suggestions from the general public and all the stakeholders to increase their participation in framing of the policy.
The panel lead by Senior scientist K Kasturirangan has submitted the draft of New Education Policy to Union HRD Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal in New Delhi on May 31. The draft of the New Education strategy discusses the changes in training arrangement of the nation and the comprehensive advancement of the considerable number of streams.
Objective Of National Educational Policy
-To endow students with the essential skills and knowledge.
-To eliminate the shortage of labour in science, innovation, academics and industry.
-The Draft of National Education Policy, 2019 is based on the fundamental pillars of Access, Equity, Quality, Affordability and Accountability.
For this, the MHRD started an extraordinary communitarian, multi-partner, multi-pronged, base up individuals are driven, comprehensive, participatory counsel process.
This major process is initiated across various levels of online, experts and thematic, and from the grassroots level ranging from the village, block, urban local bodies, district, state, zonal and the national level, provided an opportunity to every citizen to engage in this massive and national building exercise.
